Oh, I love the green on the Salamanders! Really pops out. An army of that will look amazing!

Not to be picky, but aren't all Salamanders super dark-skinned (like, coal black)?

I don't mean to say your paint job isn't superb, though. The green is really vibrant and your highlighting and shading is, for lack of a better word, immaculate. :3

In 3rd ed they were coal-black skinned. GW has since moved away from that - there have been pale-skinned Salamanders in White Dwarf recently. I think the "official" fluff at the moment is that only some of the Salamanders are black-skinned.

umm Salamanders are still "officially" coal black skinned. It's in all of the recent fluff. There are no whities on Promethius LOL

I think you would have "White guys" in a Salamander army. If one were to be recruited off world or wasnt on the planet for much of their life, they wouldnt have absorbed as much radiation form the planet. In fact didnt they make mention of that fact in one of the Salamander books. They ran into some folks on another planet hiding from some Dark Eldar, who were from Nocturne (long ago) but still white (or what ever their natural skin pigment may have been.) The young boy who first made contact with them was freaked out of his head because he had never seen anyone with coal black skin and red eyes. So yeah, judge not on the color of their skin, but on the content of their Geenseed!

Yeah, they're definitely all coal-skinned now. And the Sallies don't recruit off Nocturne.

With that being said, I really like how the models look!

Thanks for all of the replies, even though this thread got a little off topic, i do love a good debate. and my answer to is it is: FLUFF DOESNT DICTATE. i dont normally go exactly by fluff, because, i like to change things up a bit, and i kept the name becasue the scheme is the same basic idea.

To answer some questions:
I prime Black then Airbrush my green on

To everyone else:
thank you for the support.

I really like the brighter color Sally's

It looks like some of the brightness is due to color saturation settings on the camera used and/or the light the models were photographed in, though it would still be a fantastically bright green.
