Black Templar were my first army and with this FAQ I've decided to dust them off and maybe even add to my collection. Wanted to see what the community thinks about specific units that have had their effectiveness increased by the FAQ. A few ideas I've had..
1. 3 Squadrons of 3 Typhoons. A large amount of fast versatile firepower that's no too expensive.
2. 5 man squad of terminators with 2 cyclone missile launchers and tank hunters.
3. Assault Squads with 3++. Character hunters or a swamp for hammer units.
Any others ideas that I may have over looked? How do you think these changes will affect the meta?

Assault squads with invuls are probably not so good. They will only have 1 attack each, 2 on the charge. That's not so great, even with the Preferred Enemy. The are also, with the shield, 37 points a whack. For 3 points more, you have Terminators.
Now, your typhoons are inexpensive for what they get, so they might be worth get a couple of them. I wouldn't go overboard, that's 630 points.
Tank Hunters is pretty nice. That's 4 'lascannon' shots. Actually, that's pretty wicked. Not to mention, the firepower isn't bad. I'd go with the terminator command squad: Give the Sgt a Combi-Melta or Combi-Plasma. Give the Commander a Combi-Melta/Combi-Plamsa. If not, give him a hammer and Shield. He'll last a long while with the body guard. It might be worth while to ditch the storm bolter on the sgt for a shield, as well. Actually a Chaplain maybe even more fun. He can still take a shield, too.
Really, the tanks are where it's at: Power of the Machine Spirit. Grants you to take full advantage of the firepower of mixed preds. Annihilators with Hv Bolter Sponsons--- fire the Lascannon at tank, while blasting infantry with the hvy bolters. Expensive, though. Might be best off just on the vidicator for the move 12" n' Fire-- just like a Blood Angels Vindicator.
My Favorite idea is the Super Techmarine:
Give him a bike, Servo-Harness, Terminator Honors, and a Stormshield. He can shoot n' scoot, repair, and smash things. He'll have 4 Power Weapon Attacks on the charge, and 2 follow up Powerfist attacks. On top of that, twin-linked bolter and twin linked plasma pistol, or flamer. Nice! Oh yeah, and a 3+ Invul with 2+ armor. That's 160 points of Kick Butt.
Maybe not the whole squad, but mix a few in with your regular assault marines and give them a lot more survivability. And for the typhoons maybe not 3 squads of 3, but it would be easy to recreate the missile launcher volume that many space wolves are enjoying at not much of a price difference. 3 Squads of 2 would only be 420 points and would be extremely versatile and able to hit just about any target on the board. I also believe that we've seen the death of the iron halo in BT armies.
