Hey everyone,

I'm not exactly working on modeling a whole lot nowadays, per say, since I don't have much money. I do, however, have an abundance of time lately, which means I've been planning future projects pretty much obsessively.

That being said, I've been thinking about expanding my Thousand Sons army whenever I can get around to it.

I know at some point that I want a Daemon Prince - why wouldn't I? - and the new(ish) plastic kit looks great! There's only one problem; there aren't enough Tzeentch-y bits! Not for me, at least.

I'm already planning on using the Ushabti Vulture from WFB ( http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440098a&prodId=prod1020031 ) to give my future prince a suitable head and Egyptian-themed weapon, but what I think a Tzeentch-loving Daemon Prince of the Thousand Sons really needs are some awesome bird wings!

The wings for the Lord of Change model look great, but they're pretty huge and metal, and pretty much the last thing I want to try and fix to the back of a plastic Daemon Prince.

So does anyone know of any similarly-sized and suitably awesome-looking wings, from GW or any other mini-maker out there? Is there any kit that you think might have just the pieces I'm looking for? Most importantly, I'm looking for something that's resin or plastic - anything that keeps the model from turning out top-heavy and liable to tip over and break apart!

Alternatively, does anyone think I'm worried too much? Should I get my hands on the DP and some LoC wings and just go for it? Have you seen anyone else do something similar?

Help is much appreciated!

EDIT:
I meant the Greater Daemon of Tzeentch by GW as far as the wings I'm referring to...now the Lord of Change model from FW. Sorry for the mix-up!

You could use an IoB griffon (from ebay/bits site). I'm building a tzeentch daemon at the moment using this model.

You also get some good claws and pissibly a head, although it would need a lot of work to fit that to the body.

The plastic Pegasus wings are probably your best bet: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440125a&prodId=prod1280034

As someone sitting with an unassembled Lord of Change, my advice is don't use those wings. Even with pinning they are a major pain for me, and I don't believe they'd fit the new Daemon Prince well (going from memory, it's been a while since I've put one together).

I have never seen a Kairos model in person though, and looking at pictures those might work. Not nearly as spread out and they look much more daemon-like at the top, but I'm not sure if you'll find those online by themselves.

Otherwise I agree with iso that the Griffon wings might be the easiest to use and find and the the best looking, at least as far as GW alternatives go.

the kairos wings are nice, but the entire kit is metal and i've never seen it broken down into bits for sale

Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Think I might wind up using the IoB Griffon. :)
