Micron Pens?

I'll be upfront, I suck at painting. Not completely, but the fine detail stuff I'm atrocious at. I can't do thin lines with a paint brush. Absolutely can't.

Now I hear micron pens are a great way to do some fine detail works such as script on scrolls and free hand designs. I hop on Amazon and take a look, they come in all different sized! (DUH!)
So I'm at a loss... what would be a good brand to go with and an appropriate size for working with WH40k minis?

as small as possible. I use .1mm pens on tau firewarrior armor plates and it works quite well, with .1 to .3 on the vehicle lines....go too large and you dont get all the way into the cracks.

Never done scripts with them though...the brush would look more fluid :) .

colored penciles is a neat trick to do line highlights on tanks and such .

Would the GW glossy varnish have a negative effect on the micro pens? I've thought about getting some micro pens to paint details on Harlequins and I wouldn't want a varnish to mess them up.

varnish is ok just let the ink dry first they dry a little slower than paint .

I use micron pens a lot as well as Pilot G-2 .05 pens for scroll work... Be careful though cause if it gets wet at all (paint, water, varnish) too soon it will bleed, make sure it is tottally dry (duh.)

Love the Mircon pens. Feels like I'm cheating as a painter...but hey can't argue with the results.

Don't bother with the brush for scriptwork unless you want it true scale. The Brush on the pen is bug enough to use for basecoating.

Used one of the larger black pens to get the panel lines on this Falcon.

I was about to order me some Micron Pens on Amazong here, but its starting to look like I might be rotating back to the states soon. I'm thinking I should hold off on any online shopping for the mean time... I hate it when my mail is chaseing me through a half dozen countries. lol.
I'll just try to hammer out some more painting before then. Detailing with these pens can wait. ;)
