I finally got my Dark Eldar built and am starting to use them and am not exactly understanding shooting from an opened topped vehicle, I play marines and rarely shoot from my rhinos. Can I move 11.5 and still fire with my trueborn? Please help got a tourney to go to this weekend! :o

No. The only way any passengers can shoot from a vehicle is if the vehicle moves 6 inches or less. Anything faster than that is considered "cruising speed" (or faster), make it impossible for passengers to shoot.

The benefits of shooting from an open-topped vehicle as opposed to a rhino is that you can measure your distance from ANY point on the hull (instead of just a fire point) and you can have all passengers shoot instead of a limited number.

Good luck on your tournament!

you can however get out and fire if moving at cruising speed but then your trueborn are likely to get the crab blasted out of them :)

Please note Venoms are Fast Vehicles and are counted as moving at Cruising Speed if they move 12, thus allowing the passengers to fire.

Fast vehicles may fire all weapons at combat speed and one weapon at cruising speed. Nowhere does it say in the rule-book that it effects passengers firing. Passengers in a transport moving at cruising speed (>6") can not fire. (pp. 66 and 70)

passengers may only fire at Combat speed on any vehicle.
