hmmm whilst im not so keen on the deathwatch (apart from the amazing combiflamer conversion) that tomb stalker is great!!! an original colour scheme and whilst the claws are a wee bit ouy of the lines the red is fantastic!!

the big offput for me is the armour, would i be correct in assuming that you used drybrushing? if you did id go back over the plates black leaving a small edge highlight and the do a finer edge highlight! (possibly with a smaller brush)

2 more little tips is to use a spray undercoat and to use a small brush for highlighting.
lots of good painting tutorials at www.coolminiornot.com

remember more practice = better painting skills!

I hate to say it, but the pose for the Tomb Stalker is weak.

I agree with you partly on the pose. Curling up like the FW one does look more impressive. But i'd imagine its hellish to do properly, cos i;d imagine each segment is individual...

However flat like this offers a game advantage...hes flat and low, gains more cover and gets shot less

Painting on the armour is very nice thouugh

Are the segments capable of any sideways movement? If so you could have it flat, but curved at points like it is scuttling along the battlefield. I do like it, though.:)

Oh, I am not saying you cannot make it in the position it is in... the potential for dynamical pose is there, and why not make it that way?

Having it lay flat sounds like someone, if they are using a FW model for gaming, is trying to make it have such a low profile to abuse the rules for 50% cover.

I know the model can have a dynamical pose: I have seen the pictures on Forgeworld. I just look at it as a waste of money--- if you are going to spend $60 bucks on a model, ya make it look cool.

To an extent i agree about the pose not being all that great. There were really two reasons it ended up in the pose its in now. 1). I did try to get into a more rearing pose but with out putting a stuff wire backbone into it to maintain the pose its a nightmare to do. 2). a more practical reason. in its current pose it fits into the Army case very securely with minimum modification to the case. this simplifies transporting it as i tend to have to use public transport.

As for the cover issue it hadn't actually occurred to me that one but its still taller than a necron warrior.

thanks for the comments

I like the tomb stalker and i kinda like how its on the ground actually, i dont see the thing on its hind legs unless its getting ready to attack...So its nice :)
