Best materials for a warhound?

So I’m planning on building a warhound titan at some point and I would like to hear the opinions of others on what material to use in it’s construction. I’ve got the templates and can get my hands on any material so some pointers would be nice.

I used plastic card from Evergreen for my scratch build.
I ordered mine from Horizon Hobby (they had the best deal at the time) and ordered 1MM and .25MM plastic, using mostly 1MM for structure and .25 for random details and to wrap the PVC pipe joints so they'd adhere to the other plastic better.

If you do it right, this is enough 1mm for the entire thing:

(which I didn't, wasted some, and needed a second pack-but I'm thinking 3 packs easily would do 2 titans)

I will point out that cardboard is infinitely easier to work with than plasticard. Cardboard won't work for trim or details like plasticard can, but using cardboard for the main body of a titan takes a fraction of the time. I've done it with both, and I'd never bother with plasticard bodies again.

Build the body out of cardboard, and use plasticard for the trim and details.

Increasingly I like using foamcore for the main shapes- I find it's very sturdy and lightweight (and cheap). Also, cardboard works well for the details (it's cheap, and you can coat it with gloss varnish for increased plasticity without warping it).

A trick I used for my Thunderhawk is to use Great Stuff spray-on insulation foam to further reinforce the interior. This stuff expands and hardens as it dries, so it will fill the inside of the blocks, hardening and taking its shape while further sticking everything together. Good point, foamcore works well, too.

As for cardboard for details, it depends on the thickness of the cardboard. If you're using thin stuff, it works fine. I've found it's hard to have clean lines with cardboard once it gets thicker. The surface of cardboard just isn't as smooth as plasticard. Plasticard doesn't have that problem so long as you cut straight.

I made mine out of 110 weight card stock and I think it came out pretty well though it is more fragile then some other materials but for 6 bucks you get like 150 pages of card stock and you need like 12 for the titan I think.

For a first try at building a titan this is an inexpensive and relatively hassle free way to make the template warhound as you can print right on the card stock. Though before cutting it out I would put tabs on some edges so you have something to glue the pieces together with.
