Not quite finished but this is my take on the Razorwing.

Is there a base kit somewhere in there, or is it all putty?

You NEED to start casting and selling those, man. "Sleek Space Elf Fighter" on EBay or something like that. You'd almost definitely sell enough to offset the cost of the resin and RTV silicone for the molds.

I don't think he can, it looks like he's used an falcon grav tank for the centre of the razorwing and centered the pilot seat of the falcon.

Awesome. What kind of putty do you use for sculpting?

That doesn't mean too much, people use bitz in all kinds of retail (Ebay) models.

Madman, you are correct it is a conversion with the core being an Eldar Falcon.
Lerra, I'm using the Gale Force 9 Grey Stuff.

You aren't allowed to cast copyrighted material and resell it. Even the slightest use of a GW part would allow them to take action. If he were to sculpt the entire thing himself (which given this thread, he's more than capable of doing) then he's be in the clear as long as he makes it clear he is not Games Workshop.
Casting and selling it himself would probably be a bad idea unless he knows what he's doing, though. I'd recommend selling it to Trollforged or Chapterhouse or a similar company.

I think I might be able to do a full sculpt, Half way through, the Falcon began to feel like a crutch. I could make something much sleeker and even more in keeping with the DE aesthetic. But I'm gonna need a new Dremel first as it happens mine just died.
Thanks all for the input/ comments, this is my first major sculpt I usually build with sheet styrene more than anything.
I should start a Log.

Is the nose all sculpted? That thing is fantastic. I might have to steal the idea.

I think the credit mostly goes to the Dremel.:o

Tools can only get you so far. To accomplish what you did takes talent. Great job!

I actually totally disintegrated (the replaceable tip of) my Dremel cutting through a 3/16ths inch stainless steel hard drive casing. Shrapnel everywhere, and a burned thumb from the 300+ degree steel and burning label.
Yeah...i should probably just flat out stay away from cutting metals with handheld rotary sculpting tools. I'll leave that to carbide drill bits (incidentally I trashed one of those drilling all the way through the drive, several inches of stainless. )
Hey, my parents wanted the data on the drive useless. Mission accomplished.

You aren't allowed to cast copyrighted material and resell it. That's true, but you can sell assembled models or parts you've made with GW original bits. That would be an avenue for selling these. In any case, the model looks terrific.
