Ladies and gentlemen, please may I have your attention?

For your eyes only, let me introduce to you my scratch thunderbolt:
this one was designed to be solid, easy to make, yet playable and nice looking.

At the moment it still isn't over, but I'm expecting some coments from you in order to make it complete.
Would you play against it? would you be interested in the plans?

Actually making the plans took me most time.

you'll find the whole process of creation here

The best about it is that i do have three of them (but i lack bitz to finish other ones.)

Nice!!!

About how much did you spend on her? Also, how about trying a Marauder or three next?

I would absolutely play against it- it's WYSIWYG, after all. Slap some paint on it and you'll be good!

Que faut-il utiliser pour les entrées d'air moteur? C'est le seul détail que je pense doit être là.

Nice job. Few more details to go, and of course a paint job to match would be nice, but I'd deffinitely be happy to play against it. Would feel smug if I managed to shoot it down with my FW Thunderbolt though lol. How are you going to do the base/flying stand for it?

id rather play against a pretty cardboard box than a unpainted battle titan! and thats a really nice scratch build!!
my suggestion is for some parts (canopy/ engins) use bitz sites!

I love it.

That is a great Thunderbolt you have there.

All it really needs is the turbine fans & a paint job & its perfect.

Thanks guys, I didn't expect so much replies for you, and I'm glad you'd enjoy playing against!

Well, for the time spent, I spent about 10 hours making the design, then about 12 hours making the three models carcass (is the word correct?). Adding fine details like bitz took maybe one hour more.

The air entries seem to disturb you all, yet I have no solutions for it at the moment.
Buying bitz is a bit expensive for me at the moment (I'm currently unemployed), but maybe i should do something out of wood... I'll show you when it's done you guys gave me some ideas!

for the flying stand I'll take a picture ASAP (it's a bit late in the evening now here...). you could guess from the fourth pic on my blog (http://pretorien40k.over-blog.com/article-scratch-thunderbolts-40176996.html) I used 50mm base with ruins and one iron rod plus some random piece of lead to increase weight on the stand.
As a result the plane can be used as an earthquake detector (it moves gently with the slightest vibration).

edit: " for the marauder, I've been considering it, but I do have too many unpainted models crying for paint...and no space at home"

qui manque[/U] je pense. Your sentence was understandable (the first part was very difficult and yet perfectly correct from you!), but we would say this way ;) I am always very pleased to meet foreigners crazy enough to learn my over-difficult language! (sometimes foreigners enven speak better french than we do!).

C'est Fontastique!

I think you should frame the cockpit canopy by putting a few strips around it. This would make it look like theres a frame holding the glass in. This would only take a couple of minutes and much improve it.

Merci, je suis dans mon troisième semestre d'apprentissage du français à l'université. Je déteste la grammaire...

Aussi, pour:

then about 12 hours making the three models carcass (is the word correct?)

Okay guys, big thanks, I'll try a little bit more effort on canopy and engine and post it.
Anyway there's still got lots of work to do.

@black: just a little correction:

I'm pretty sorry, but i couldn't explain why you cannot say "qui on" We never say it. Your french is very excellent, I'm delighted! If you're looking for a French penmate, contact me via pm. Do not worry, i'm busy teaching french to my wife so I've grown patient!

By the way your link is excellent (and got rather cheap products), but I thinks I'll pass (my reactor entrance is 2x2cm and the minimum diameter is 3cm, so the cutting would be a bit too rough. I'll try to do something by myself.:o

PM'd- et merci, c'est très encourageant.

That's too bad about the turbines- I'm using the 50mm ones for the Thunderhawk that I'm building, and they're very nice.

You could also use pen caps- some I've seen at Giant/Safeway/Wal-Mart (Carrefour, if you will) are roughly 2cm in diameter and rather look like the intake for a turbine.

Je vous envoie mes bien amicales pensées. Votre Thunderbolt est source d'inspiration!
