Rules between new and old codexes.

Under certain special characters you can replace the combat tactics rule with other special rules. However, if I wanted to use a 5th ed special character with my 4th ed Black Templars(as per the mix-and-match wording on pg 127 5th edition marine dex, bottom right), I would have to forfeit this rules trade, because 4th ed marines lack this, right? I don't remember seeing this anywhere in the FAQ.

Can someone please confirm/disprove this?

The "mix and match" rule you're talking about doesn't let you use C:SM charcters in any other chapter's codex, it only lets you mix chapters within C:SM.

You can't use rules from the Space Marine Codex in the Black Templar Codex.
