Just got this in the e-mail.

"In February 2011, the Blood Angels will receive more reinforcements, including never-before-seen models - visit the website tomorrow for more information from the Studio in their Incoming! article. If you want to start massing your own Angelic Host, or are looking to bolster your troops, then here are some essential items to prepare for the new arrivals in February."

Cool :)

They already have a raft of great models so what models are we thinking?

Storm Raven is a given.
New Dreadnought with all the Blood Angels' options including Librarian ?
Blood Angel Techmarine ?
New Sanguinary priest models ?

I am very excited about the second wave coming! I cant wait until tomorrow to see what exactly is coming for my Sons of Sanguinius.

IMHO...
I think the new dreddie will come in along with the flying brick.

Bits, along the lines of vehicles, could be in the mix but not likely especially with infantry since we get sooo many extras with DC and SG. They would be nice though.

I would love to see a better Tycho model, but that also seems unlikely.

AHHHH THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!

It won't be an update to any existing models otherwise the old versions wouldn't be in the codex.
Plus the e-mail says never before seen models.
If it said just "model" I wouldn't be that excited as it would just be the Storm Raven, but saying " modelS " means we should be in for some unexpected model fun.

Im saying Dread and Storm Raven. upgrade sprue = Death Company, so I don't think that will happen.

If I had a wish list:
- New Mephiston model!!!
- New Dante Model (though I like my conversion a lot)

Here I have been converting the crap out of Techmarines and Preists....crapcrapcrapcrapcrap. :-)

Too bad I'm broke as heck.

Just got a Terminator Chaplain in a lot of bitz of ebay, so that gives me something cool to work on for a while until I can get new stuff (not like I don't have a ton of old stuff still unfinished...)

Looking less promising for grey knights in Q1 :(, 2 back-to back 40K marine releases and not saving the storm raven? [Cue comments about GW obsession with marines which for once I'm hoping are right]

My bet is on storm raven, another dread and maybe plastic honour guard that could double as plastic vanguard vets (also maybe a new metal sanguinary priest, chaplain and/or librarian).

I don't think any of the special characters that are already pictured in the codex will be updated.

I wouldn't read anything into it. GW probably just wants to get the Storm Raven kit out for Christmas. They may also be preparing for a White Dwarf rules release for all marine codices.

Well, I hope the Storm raven is out by Christmas. That means I can get half a dozen painted by the time (shameless plug follows) the Biggest Apocalypse Battle in History (http://apocalypse40k.com/index.php?/forum/33-official-news/) happens January 22nd. I mean I have about 15,000 points of my Templars Sanguine ready to roll, but how cool would it be to have half a dozen Storm ravens too?

Well in this instance seeing as they are special characters they would want them in the codex, doesn't rule out working on new models at the time of printing. Storm Raven and Furioso, I would have thought something else too, two models do not a wave make, if Blood Angels are the February release there must be something else in there, otherwise it would have to be a good release for a different system.

Well, I hope the Storm raven is out by Christmas.Huh? GW has stated that these Blood Angels models are a February 2011 release. What was originally supposed to be out in December was Grey Knights, but production delays pushed them to next year.

They do have the metal Furioso in the codex. And a (Converted?) Death Company dread.

well whatever the models may be I am excited for a second wave and I will start saving money for them. I have been waiting for these releases for a long time. The kits for DC were awesome and the SG were brilliant imo.

Read on warseer some talk of a battleforce and see someone else mentioned it here. That would be cool.

If there's a battleforce, my money is definitely on new plastic jump marines of some kind. The problem with a plastic BA battleforce otherwise is that their new plastics are a bit too specialised (sanguinary guard)/expensive (Baal predator) to be part of a core box.

Of course this may not be a true second wave at all and could just be the storm raven :confused:

There are also the existing assault marines in the pic so I'm struggling to see what apart from the storm raven they are going to do re new models (separate metal bood talons bitz?)

the IG codex has the old metall-demolisher in its pictures as well.

old pictures only mean that the model wasnt done soon enoguh for eavy metal to paint it in time for the codex.

i even found the blog post beafor it was finished and what do i get:

These "no announcement" announcements are already quite tiresome. I don't usually criticize their marketing techniques, it's a business after all, but this borders on being a bit dishonest. Customers don't like being misled. If you have something to announce, great, then do so. If you don't, then hold your teasers till you actually plan on fulfilling your promise to actually announce something as stated in the teasers.

According to the inside back page teaser advert in the newest White Dwarf, the new Blood Angels models will be released on January 29.

Just read the latest White Dwarf (#373) and yes inside the back cover is a pic stating January 29 release. Guess its the second wave stuff.

I put it down to :
Dreadnought with options.
Maybe a techmarine.
Stormraven but i think they will wait on this later in the year.
Upgrade sprues to customize.
And lastly maybe a honour gaurd squad.

Other than that i'd say everything else as standard has been released or wont be changed. Doubtful on new Dante or Tycho.

But a side note is its interesting to see that GW is also bringing out the DA's upgrade sprue, could we be lookng at a release here as well??
All they need is the codex, new SC's, new dreadnought and upgrades to bring in existing new units not covered in the SM codex.
Is it possible those old rumours were just a year too soon?? It just seems a bit weak of GW to bring out only sprues and upgrades for the BA's, im hoping for a combined release here.
Anything is possible, and there are hints to this end.

I think the new dred is pretty much a certainty.

I doubt they would do a DA/BT style upgrade box as that will take away sales from the Sang Guard and DC boxes already out.

I think they may do a Sang Priest model or two in blisters, low set up cost, and almost a must have for all BA players.

They may repackage the command squad with some SG/DC bits thrown in as an honour guard box.

They may do a BA battleforce, which may be good for new starters.

The biggest question is whether they will release the stormraven at the end of Jan, or wait for the GK release in March/April time. There are good reasons for both choices, so its not a no-brainer, so we can only wait and see.

Personally, I think they will wait as the SR is too big to release as a second wave, and also because they could have plenty of new stuff to show off for the BA second wave that they don't need to SR to grab people's interest.
