Gotta love fake alliteration.
I've come up with my own Kabal that I'm painting up now. The Kabal of the Burning Hand.
Features black armor plates with a glowing lining on all the tips of the armor. Copper Splinter Rifles and Green highlights on the poison and drug elements and the eyes.
Here is a crappy iPhone pic of my paint scheme with as much of the background cropped out as I could.
It's not fully finished... but it gives the general idea.
No base yet.. as I have to pick one, and I'm open to suggestions. I was considering molten rock.
Submitted for your approval.

Dude I love it! I think a moon surface base would make those look awesome.

Looks more like a wasp than fire to me, but still great.

Thanks for the feedback thus far... I'll post some other pics when they are ready
Moon bases might not be a bad idea at all actually... some styrene... or moon rocks...
I did my marines in a city rubble base though so it'd have to look different...
Snow might also not be a bad contrast... like melting the snow around them :P, but I'm happy to take suggestions on bases.

I would do a snow base or a light-colored sandy base for high contrast. A horde of dark figures on dark bases tends to turn into a black blur. A light grey moon base would look good too.

I'm thinking snow but some plasticard sandstone tiles would be cool too.
I'll probably do snow though. I'm from Canada after all it only seems right.

Here's my Warrior now with a base.
Ruined Tile flooring with snow drifts.
Process:
1/8" Scale Model Train Scenery Sidewalk cut into 4x4 tile sections.
Using a Pin Vice I drilled gun shot holes into the sidewalk
Using a Hobby Knife I detailed the gun shot holes and carved chips out of the sidewalk.
I primed the whole base.
I painted the top Dheneb Stone.
Washed Gryphon Sepia mixed 60:40 with water.
Then I painted the individual squares, avoiding the cracks and holes with Dheneb again.
Following that I mixed 50:50 Dheneb and Skull White and painted highlights in the middle of the squares.
Lastly for the paint portion, a thin line of pure skull white around the edges of each square.
For the snow, I used Scenic Cement and then applied Fluffy Snow Flakes from Scenic Effects.
I repeated that process twice before sealing it in with a top coat of Scenic Cement.
This is the result: (again I'm sorry for phone pic :P)

I retrimmed the bases with a darker colour and I think they look better now.
I've also finished another 3 warriors.
Sorry for the crappy pictures from my kitchen :P my camera is currently indisposed for an actual shoot.

Looking good, but I'd add a wash (maybe ogryn flesh) to your tabards, right now they're a little bland.

So I finished making my scourges last night, with the exception of 2 missing pieces to go on their backs (I think they were originally grenade launchers) that I'll be acquiring from a friend who has some extras.
I sprayed them last night and started painting wings to see how it'll look.
Painted Astronomicon Grey
Washed 50:50 mix of Asurmen Blue and Badab Black
Highlighted Astronomicon
Highlighted 50:50 mix of Astronomicon and Skull White.

LoL I am not.
Despite the niggling fear I have, I'll risk saying that I'm from Canada and therefor uninterested in your American style pigskin tossing and much prefer other activities such as hockey. God's gift to sports enthusiasts. ;)
Thanks for the feedback btw ;)

I'm a hockey fan as well so you're in the clear, but the colors just scream "Chicago Bears" ;)
That being said, I dig the orange highlights so keep it up!

What do you plan to arm the Scourge with?
I really can't tell from the picture.

That one is actually a heat lance. I made the heat lance by adding a blast pistol end to the splinter rifle after chopping the very end off.
They will have 2x heat lances and 3 carbines in the unit of 5.
