Politics aside for this guy (they're crazy and it helps his drawing in my opinion)

Seriously these are crazy picture and he does a lot of really great chaos concept art!

I gotta say, doesn't really do it for me. They're pretty well done, but a bit too disturbed for my taste.

If she is a pet, why does she still have clothing on?

Flammenwerfer13

She's apparently a daemonhost for the former-Commissar as a pet for him.

Yes this guy who does this is a very disturbed individual. But the bright side is that the chaos art he does is really good.
Apparently reading through his post on deviant art he is a huge Blood Pact player/fan.

If she is a pet, why does she still have clothing on?

So that everyone will know that he has defeated a Sister of Battle and taken her as a pet? What's the use of having a Sister of Battle captive if no one realizes the fact?

I agree. These pictures are rather disturbing, but not that much more so than some older GW works.

Can't wait for Melissa's reaction to this. :)

"EDIT: He appears to be a Neo-****."

Wait...the forum blocked out your original text? That is patently RIDICULOUS. This site is based in the USA. We have the right to free speech, guaranteed by the 1st Amendment, not some European social(ist) democracy banning anything they think is 'offensive'. The original word is not, and should not be considered offensive when used in an objective way, such as for historical purposes or as a legitimate point. This post falls into the latter. The helmet shown totally looks based off a Wehrmacht WWII helmet.

Freedom of speech protects you in a public forum. This is not a public forum.

Meh, this is just another crappy concept with mediocre art to it. Some ****ty little sexual fantasy some random douchebag has.

Unfortunately the filter can't tell the context a word is used in. I believe it filters out that word so people can't use it as a personal insult, not to suppress free speech.

Its not that good, I've seen a lot better. Even on deviantart where most of it is porn.

I don't agree with censorship of things related to fascism, but bear in mind in Europe they virtually burnt the continent to the ground and killed tens of millions of people. Its not banned because 'socialists' are touchy, its banned because the scars still remain.

I've never been much of a fan of this sort of art, though it is pretty good quality. I prefer "clean" art as opposed to mutated, twisted flesh stuff. Something more like this, for example (just pulled this randomly off google images):

Yeah, I'd think it's more because people seem to like insulting other people by calling them ******.

Free speech is also a real tricky thing to discuss rights, because there's a very fine line to tread. Kinda like the whole "my right to swing my fist ends where the other guy's face begins".

Not that I'm saying that you can't offend anyone, ever, nor that you're not allowed to punch someone. In fact, quite the opposite. The right to defend yourself is a far more important right than freedom of speech ever will be. But I digress.

It's passable but barely.

The execution is decent, the artist shows good technique but in line with 40K fluff no member of the adeptus soretis would allow herself to live under those conditions. Death before dishonor. Also, the chaos lord seems rather sickly and emaciated kinda like Lindsay Lohan on after one of her binges, I highly doubt he would be able to control a Sister of battle.

I'm not offended, I've seen far worse. I've seen an image of a... hermaphroditic Sister of Battle, with an =][= tattoo on a compromising location, impregnating a chaos cultist. It's trashy, just like this, but at least it has the distinction of being porn and thus intentionally having no rhyme or reason for it. This? This is just a douchey little power fantasy, without even the excuse of being porn. So it's incredibly trashy.

Trash is just something to be thrown away, not something to be offended by.

The old (not that there's a new one yet) Asdrubael Vect DE model had a Battle Sister prisoner stripped right down to her 'underwear'. Guess once you fill them with enough drugs (DE) or use them to host a daemon (Chaos) they'll break - they aren't Grey Knights

gcsmith
11-09-2010, 06:59 AM
Don't forget they are only human, So in the end some of them can be broken, same as its possible to have a chaos grey knight. However the odds are so low when it happens that knight is dead before the word spread.

Remember the imperium is just human, phsycic conditioned humans may exists but still human.

But anyway about image, dnt like, too dirty for my tastes.

...wait a minute. Sounds like another army. Can't think of their name, though, what with nobody around here riding around on a high horse, spouting off comments regardless of what other people may or may not think on the matter.

On a side-note, the art is decent, but more along the lines of comic art than standalone pictures.

Honestly is very average to some of the 40k artists ive seen. I have been collecting varies pictures of 40k, an now have probably about 200 pics, and a lot of them are much more artistic than this over hyped peice.

Its just another attempt as fantasies of the male domination of the female form. Why didn't the artist picture with say a IG Commisar, or a SM?? Because SoB are the only really female army in the game.
Yes there are female Eldar, De (though i think they would be role reversed somehow), and some (very few) female IG.

Secondly RebelGrot, those two females were just painted with a tattoo, there was never any indication that they were Sisters of Battle ever. Just the painter decided that for himself. They could be just any human female prisoner really if it wasnt for the tattoo painted on the miniatures.

I somehow think this diseased looking fellow will be on the wrong end of the Sister of Battle, remember that they are all very martially trained to defend themselves, and if iver taken alive would rather face death.
That Chaplet Ecclesiasticus they wear also contains an adamantiam blade for just that purpose.

If anyone actually believes that I doubt they have the intelligence required to play this game. :POr they just don't respect CSMs, because they rebelled against the Emperor because of daddy issues. And oh yes, they most assuredly did. It's not like most people talk about Renegades when they say CSMs, no, they talk about the legions. And it's the legions that are the most pathetic in my eyes. At least the renegades actually serve chaos for the sake of it rather than just to get back at daddy.

GW stopped letting us play the true servants of chaos back in third edition, but at least they gave Daemons their own codex, so they took a good step forward. Now only if they'd bring in a LatD codex. Ah well, at least I have my daemons-- I have a Chaos army planned out for when I actually have spending money, and I don't have to have a single CSM model.

I couldn't be happier about that prospect. **** CSMs, preferably with an orbital bombardment.

If you think about it CSM should be at least as rare and dangerous as Grey Knights, not the equivalent of regular marines. I don't like how they are handled at all. It would so much cooler if they were heroes and elites for traitor armies, like in the old Lost and the Damned book.

So you ask her why she still plays 40k despite not liking a single faction, then you turn around a call her close-minded? I'd think that she keeps playing despite not liking chaos because she's open-minded, if anything. You're logic is a little faulty there:p.

Chaos Space Marines represent the antithesis of what the Emperor wanted his defenders of humanity to be. After centuries of self-depravation, they fell harder and farther than any other human could fathom. I'm not going to go on and on about this, but basically, you take Space Marines, who are the ultimate badasses, and give'em something real to worship. Boom. That's awesomeness in a book right there.

They were the weak marines that took the quick path.

Yeah, I wouldn't describe chaos Marines as Marines that now believe in something. Quite the opposite. I'd describe them as Marines who gave into temptation to give up everything they'd fought for and just do what they want.

The specific reasons for their fall are trivial. Ultimately, they were once noble (more or less), but now they're [super]-human trash.

While some of the fluff, especially the newer stuff reads like that, I don't think it applies to all of the Legions, or is how most people see them, or how the Legions would see themselves.

CSM's lost was their inherent feeling of being dangerous even reading about, the dread enemy that lurked in the corners of space that mankind wishes to forget, borne from the Imperium's own failings and excesses at it's creation, something that remains mostly a distant bogeyman, but that will, on very rare and world ending occaisions, make itself known in terrifying displays of galaxy spanning aggression, violence, depravity, suffering and holocaust at the hands of those whose toil and blood built the Imperium and who now seek only to tear it down and erase it from existence.

To me, the Chaos Legions are bitter traitors who fight the Long War purely out of a sense of unquenchable hate and an deep feeling of betrayal, near gods who feel it was *they* who were betrayed and turned on, mere tools to be used and discarded. That's how I see them and what I like. Now this isn't true of all of them, however it is very true of some of the Legions. Look at the Night Lords, Iron Warriors, and Thousand Sons. The Night Lords served a purpose, they inspired terror and obedience through fear. This was accomplished through planned extreme brutality and actions designed specifically to instill terror. While this absolutely horrified some, they were retained until such terror and fear was no longer required, at which point the Night Lords were cast aside and thrown under the proverbial bus for their "crimes". At least that's how they see it, which has some merit.

The Iron Warriors were stretched to a breaking point following stupid orders while other Legions simply disregarded them out of pride and , forcing the Iron Warriors to take up yet more of the slack, having to try to be everywhere at once and being strong nowhere, being stretched to a point where they could no longer fight effectively, their fighting ability, identity, and cohesion began to break while everyone else just went along their merry way. Their problems arent' so much with the Emperor as with everyone else not doing their ******* job and them having to work themselves to death trying to keep everything together. When their homeworld revolts and their view of the universe basically implodes, they finally snap. Anything that is overused and not properly maintained will break, which is exactly what happens here.

The Thousand Sons actively tried to warn the Emperor, to stop Horus and side with the Imperium. It was their method (granted, the only one available) of warning the Emperor that resulted in their plea and warning being ignored and an order being given to destroy them...for attempting to warn the Emperor of treason. Thus left shattered and sundered, their only chance at survival after such gross betrayal was at the side of Horus.

Granted, some Legions do have really "daddy didn't love me enough" background, especially the Word Bearers (them above all others), World Eaters, Black Legion and to some extent the Death Guard (although they also had Nurgle intervene to completely subvert them). But not all. The Emperor's Children really don't fit into either category as their Primarch was subverted and then possessed by a Daemonic entity. The Alpha Legion (if Legion is to be believed...not sure) has some rather more interesting reasons and, at least originally, believed they were doing the Emperor's work according to what they saw as necessary.
