The results are in and I have just bought a copy of Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader AKA 1st ed over on Ebay.

Does anyone have any advice or memories they'd like to share about first ed? I know I have to have a GM

Don't forget to get the Red Book as well. :)

Both are a fine read. I love these books.

We used to play MANY games without a GM.
Of course, TMIR was something we didn't even need to think about.
DON'T BE A TOOL.

When people needed to be told this to start with, the fun started to leave.

Zoat mercenaries with vortex grenades.
18" range, maximum scatter 1/2 the distance back towards the firer.

Vehicles, troops, wandering small children - goooone, poof!

Ah, memories.

IT ARRIVED!

man is the fluff different- the relgious aspect was REALLY toned down. No Horus heresy, or chaos- so no explanation why the emperor ascended onto the golden throne. It must have been great when that story first came out.

Zoats eat Zoatibix :)

Big Red book?

I know BRB as "big rule book", because not all BRBs are actually red.

Big Red book?

Basically, the expansion to the rogue trader book you got. It is the 40k compendium, to be exact.

It has rules for Harlequins, Squats, Ogryns, Imperial Robots, Eldar, and a ton of other stuff.
