So I've been trying to figure out how to paint my salamanders and I just can't get happy with the way they have turned out so far. I found an article on BoLS a while back and there hasn't been any updates on it.

It's a year old but the colors are perfect. Anyone able to tell me how I might be able to get these colors? He said he used a lot of blending in one of the comments, but I'm just not sure about anything else.

I might suggest giving the Army Painter Greenskin colour a thought or two. I did a commission Salamander army with it, and it turned out beautifully. It's almost the same exact shade of green that snot green is (you can't really tell, but also, not being the same company, one would be silly to say they're identical, as they logically can't be)

The quick way to do them with good results with the Army Painter Green is:

- Prime with AP Greenskin (Checking to make sure you don't miss spots)
- touch up as needed with snot green, slightly thinned down
- wash with a very slightly thinned down coat of Badab Black (making sure it doesn't pool, this is key)
- use thined down coats of snot green on the panels, leaving black in the recesses. This gives you the ability if you wish to blend a bit of white into your mix, or a bit of scorpion green, you could.
- Very thin edging with scorpion green
- Red Eyes
- Brass Eagles
------------
Optionally, there is a basic article on GW's site of how they do them too (never hurts to have options)

Well, I actually have the army painter green skin spray. My main issue with it is that it's so thick. Maybe I just need practice getting the base coat on. That's very helpful though.
