I will when I'm finished with the Witchtower I have pre-ordered. I really like their Abandoned Factory kit too.

eldargal, correct me if I'm wrong, but those kits are relatively pricey, yeah? I can't recall.

The prices are as follows:
Guard Tower: 113EU
Merchants house: 60EU
Well: 14EU
Supplies: 10EU
Furniture: 14EU

http://www.tabletop-world.com/index.php

Certainly pricey but very much worth it by all accounts, they have a topic over on Warseer (link on their webpage) with nothing but glowing reviews. They actually cut each piece of stone by hand so each is individual, giving the appearance of a real building. Remarkable effort.

Wow, those are gorgeous! However; they look very intimidating! (to/for me) D:

Especially with me just starting out, I feel like I need a bit more experience under my belt before I try something that amazing! (I'm already nervous about the Island of Blood detail compared to the Archers and Spearmen I'm working on xD)

Also; I converted your prices from EU's to USD for all of us across the Pond (hope you don't mind)

Guard Tower: 159.33USD
Merchants house: 84.60 USD
Well: 19.74 USD
Supplies: 14.10 USD
Furniture: 19.74 USD

Love the models, super awesome! /cowers

They are intimidating, I certainly think it wise to wait until you feel you are more experienced. :) No problem converting them to USD, I wonder what shipping is out of Europe. Probably a lot.

I suppose most of painting models takes practice, I've only just started, but I'm thebomb.com at following directions and learning brush strokes etc. I'm pretty confident, my hand and and wrist just aren't strong enough yet to be able to sit through anything longer than about an hour to an hour and a half painting session.

To your question about over seas mailing etc. It really depends on what part of Europe it comes from, I know with dealings with the UK Royal British Air Mail is only like 4-5 USD more than it normally would be, at least that waht eBay tells me! xD

Thanks again Eldargal for the pictures, I really do enjoy them (Being the noob \o/ I'm not very knowledged on a lot of table-top things) Also read some of your articles and really enjoyed them. Especially your High Elf Army lists from like a year ago, (I was surfing the fantasy army lists and came across yours, I'm going to name all my characters/units also! :D)

Oh, I remember those, my first 8th ed games, they were fun.:) Naming characters really lets you build a narrative over many games and in my experience helps you become attached to the army even more.

Dont-Be-Haten
09-07-2011, 09:21 AM
That's completely how I feel! xD Do you still play high elves? Hopefully one of these days I'll be experienced enough to field some of those awesome buildings! Thanks again for the encouragement! :)

Not at the moment, focusing on my Empire and perhaps soon my Dark Elves. I don't like the high Elf spearmen and archer kits and using plastic seaguard as a proxy in every unit is a litlte unsatisfying.:(

Dont-Be-Haten
09-07-2011, 09:31 AM
Ooo I see. Yeah after seeing the Sea Guard I don't really care for the Spearmen as much as I did; however, I like the newer archer models compared to the older one's I've seen. I guess in retrospect I should've waited before buying the battalion battle chest because I didn't realize the spearmen are a tad bit smaller than the Sea Gaurd, but too late, I will play them anyways xD

Tabletop World just released their Graveyard (http://www.tabletop-world.com/Graveyard.php) and it is mangificient:
http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr335/TabletopWorld/Graveyard.jpg

price: 94€

dimensions: 27x33x29cm (11x13x12inch)

weight: 800g

So going to use a couple of these in my Garden of Morr themed board.

These are incredidbly expensive. They are beautiful and very detailed, but when I can get two rather nice fortified manor houses from GW for less than the price of the guard tower, I really can't see these being bought by anyone but the most dedicated hobbyist. I mean the graveyard is very nice, but it doesn't seem markedly better than the Garden of Morr and you can get three of those and a pocketfull of change at that price. It's a shame as when I saw the pictures I loved them and thought I'd get some, but sadly I really can't justify the purchase at those prices. Have I missed something special about these models that justifies their high price?

I agree that the graveyard is a bit... unfortunately timed given GWs release of the Garden of Morr. The GW one doesn't look any worse, even if it is a bit smaller. The only advantage of the Tabletop World terrain is that it looks more like a graveyard and less like a Necroplis or collection of Mausoleums (it actually has headstones).

That being said, I own the Guard Tower and it's a great kit. It assembles very easily and looks great on the tabletop. It's a great product and, in my opinion, well worth the price. Still, it's a personal decision. Just like some people don't understand why people pay excessive amounts of money for figures from Forge World, some don't understand the draw of really good looking terrain. To each their own.

I really wish they'd re-release the Ruined Coaching Inn, the Smithy, and/or the Abandoned Factory.

The Guard tower is huge and magnificient though, with internal detailing. Money well spent, trust me. But yes it is expensive but it is also aimed at the hobbyist that wants the best they can get and in my opinio TTW provide the best quality WFB/medieval style terrain you can get.:) I've tarted mine up with Empire themed bits from my GW empire terrain and it looks wonderful.

The graveyard, well, it is expensive. I'm going to get one or two but I'll be getting four GoM at least for my board along with lots of scratchbuilt. It is larger than GWs offering and the components will be offered for sale individually in the future.

It is worth noting that the TW stones aren't sculpted, they carve each one individually so no two are alike. It is little things like that that really make it stand out when you view it in person. No copy-paste details.

I guess if they are handcrafting them, the nyou cna justify that sort of price. I'm sure they will find plenty of takers as they are very nice, just out of my price range sadly.

Good luck, TTW aren't interested yet in stocking larger retailers like Wayland and Maelstrom (I suggested it) due to the volume they would have to produce to make it worthwhile (they lack the capacity at the moment). But a smaller LGS might be able to get some stock from them.:)

Yep. TTW terrain is simply the best on the market when it comes to quality, and the newer models with less interior detail are very competitive in terms of price, too.

They really are, best fantasy terrain on the market bar none. I believe they have said they will be making all the old buildings in this new generation of buildings they are producing. It's amazing how each generation of TTW building has been better than the last, even though people keep wanting the old ones to be produced again whenever the new version comes out it blows the old one away.:) #TTW fangirl.

You can order from this German site, http://www.miniaturicum.de/index.php?infoBox=3&cPath=1597 it will be cheaper than from Tabletop World direct and maybe quicker if they have them in stock. Tabletop World are in Croatia and I drove past their place last year, they are a small business and there postage and taxes are high as they are not part of the EU. I ordered direct to get the free well last year and again for the free cart and vegetable stuff with the merchant shop as I like to support the smaller business.
