So I'm about to participate in a Fantasy Campaign come January and it has really stoked my black, cold heart and made me whip my slaves butt's into gear and actually get my Dark Elf army painted that I've had for nearly 2 years (where does the time go??).
Anyway, the campaign sounded really cool and it seemed like the perfect excuse to jump in on the new Ed and play some fantasy again. Not to mention make new friends as I just moved back to Phoenix after being gone for nearly 3 years.
So without further delay, here's pics of the first unit I've painted.
10 Repeater xbowmen with full command.
This unit took me about 2 weeks to complete (painting about an hour or two a day at most if I was lucky).
Now I'll be the first to admit that they are not up to my usual standards.
For example, the crossbows have a single coat of Calthan brown and that's it. Normally, I would use a minimum of 3 layers before I would even think of them as being done. But I'm trying to force myself to be less a perfectionist with the rank and file guys.
Plus the unit still needs some static grass before they'll be complete in my eyes.
Now that I've got my paint scheme down, I expect the rest of my units to get done much, much faster.

And the next unit is primed and base painted green.
Sharp eyed readers will notice the unit is only 9 strong. I accidentally miscounted while building the two units and only just now noticed as I never field them since they're useless for the most part.

And for fun (plus so I don't forget how I did them), here's the steps I used for painting them:
1. Prime black
2. Paint base with watered down goblin green.
3. Drybrush armor and weapons boltgun metal.
4. Paint robes & arms with Mechchrite red
5. Wash robes & arms with gryphonne sepia
6. Paint Robes & arms with Red Gore
7. Paint belts with Bleached bone then skull white
8. Dwarf bronze on ammo clip & on musician's horn
9. Paint xbows Calthan Brown
10. Drybrush base with Bad moon yellow
11. Paint boots Chaos Black
12. Paint Hands and face with Elf Flesh
C&C welcomed
