Having recently got my hands on the new codex, I'm interested in doing a haemonculi themed army i.e Urien, lots of grotesques and wracks, talos e.t, but I'm stumped on how to convert wracks and grotesques. I can'f find any suitable components or ideas, so I was wondering if any of you have any ideas?
TL;DR How could I convert wracks?

See i haven't ot my codex yet (grrrr) but aren't Wracks and Grotesques tortured prisoners basically?
I'm think Zombie bits with bits of who the prisoner was in a pat life.....
As for Grotesques thinking some of the big fantasy monsters, with life support systems, cybernetics and the like...

Zombies are good as a base for the wracks, but giving them a more sci-fi aesthetic is the hard part.

1. Grotesques i've seen just Rat Ogres being used. Adding Warpfire Throwers etc.
2. Wracks are more difficult. I'm using Flagellants with pipes, chainswords, and all sorts of stuff cut into them. GS stitching etc into them.

This is what I have so far, but I've only just started my army:

I've been thinking crypt ghouls, myself.
As for not being 40K-like enough... wracks don't have any futuristic equipment. They've got tough skin, and two poisoned weapons (which, honestly, could be implanted claws if the haemonculi wanted). Anybody with a liquifier gun or other upgrade could be given a gun of some kind, but just straight-up crypt ghouls seem fine to me for the basic guys.

The're a little small though. LOTR minis are 25 mm true scale and Warhammer is 28mm Heroic scale (bigger/beffier than real life).

I actually had the same thought for my army. I love me some Haemonculi. While I love the way those rat ogres look, my idea was to use Chaos Spawn for regular grotesques. Lots of bits available for all sort of crazy things, they're muscular, they're terminator size, and they even have spots for multiple arms. Also, they have really broad shoulders, which is what I noticed most in the picture.
I was actually going to use the rat ogres (thanks Isotope) for Urien's Uber Grotesques. They're taller, less random and more menacing than the spawn.
For wracks, I haven't quite figured out what to do with them, but I have a few bitz narrowed down. For me, it's going to be a kit-bash conversion. I'm not comfortable using any models as they are, because nothing seems to fit for me. Looking at the picture, I think you need:
-Bare arms
-Sickles (or another suitable menacing looking blade)
-Spikes along the traps/back
-Ugly OR covered heads
-A beefy man-sized model
For the arms, I've recently won a bid on ebay for Catachan arms (and heads, actually) to try and use.
The Sickles are easy enough to crave out of plasticard, which is what I'm probably going to do.
For spikes, well it's a good thing my first army is CSM. I have quite a few left over shoulder spike racks from the terminator box set. I think those would work great because of the fact that they're rounded to go on a body already, and they're not too oversized.
The only heads I can think of are various ghouls as has been mentioned, but I don't have any of those, and I'm not sure what I'd do with the bodies I'd get. I think I might use some of the Catachan heads, carving some scars into them. Also, the Wyches and Reaver Jet Bikes come with a helmeted head, so I'll probably use those if I can't find anything else.
The body is where I have trouble. I think a leg set like Dark Angels would be nice, I really like robes for them. The upper body could be Catachan, but only the bare ones without flak. I'm looking through models online constantly to find something I like, but I'm not going to start on that until release, when I get my codex.
(On a related note, I have begun my first Venom conversion, from a Vyper, and I'll post pictures of that up when I can. It might not be until I get some things started on the other conversions too.)
(Also, how freaking awesome is Urien? I can't get enough of that guy. Ran a proxy game and I don't know how that guy is ever going to die, except against Honor Guard or some other mass-powerweapon group.)

Good point on the lotr models.
Still might use these http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440049a&prodId=prod1490007
which kinda fit with the design I want
Either that or beastmen or something.
While I want good looking models I dnt wanna spend too much money either.

Those look pretty cool and are as close to perfect as any model out there can be without further conversion. It's a shame they're 5.50.
And I assume they're metal, and I hate putting together PP's metal infantry, haha.
Still, great find!

Corsairs are great to have regardless. Those cloaks are sweet. I used cosairs as my mandrakes in the old codex. Had a nice blending from purple to blue to green on the scales, they used it to hide-in-plain-sight. Not sure how well they'll fit to the new warriors, but I'm condiering using the cloaks to signify my sybarites.
They do look menacing and torturous for wracks, too.

Warhammer Empire Flagellants? Lots of bare arms, torsoes partly bare with some robe tatters on, robed legs, ugly heads-a-go-go!

I think im going to run with the corsairs, 2 hand weapons each. and well look dark elfy :) plus the different design will allow them to stand out and kinda makes them look tougher. Plus the musicians horn is a good base for liquifier.

ghouls look like winners for the wracks - maybe a lil green stuff to personalise.

Thanks for all the input guys. I've settled on using the top half of the Mantic ghouls with the legs of my old DE. Now onto the grotesques. There's plenty of good torsos and legs around, but i'm looking for a really good head from any range to use right now. Any suggestions?

Agree with the ghouls..maybe mix them up with some zombies to get the effect. Throw in the occassional Guardsmen head or limb to remind what they were before disfigurement...Aquila tattoos or something...
As for Grotesques....those Ogres dont't look deformed enough. Need a lot of converting....

WFB Chaos Warrior? Looks the closest to the pictured head that I've seen.

Doesn't take much to convert ghoul heads (not sure about the mantic ones) into half masked wrack heads. A little green stuff with some vents cut with a hobby knife. See WIP haemonculus head below.
You could also do the reverse with the top part covered.
