Mephiston (heroic scale)

Whilst waiting for my new dark eldar to arrive, I thought I'd do a modelling project that I've been thinking about since the Blood Angels codex was released. A new plastic mephiston befitting his stature. The existing model is good but a little weedy next to the new astorath and sanguinor.

Key ingredients:


Chaos terminator lord (wanted that cloak)
Chaos terminator skull shoulders (from bitz sites)
Plastic pegasus wings
Supersized force sword from sanguinary guard weapons

The robes and collar were the hardest parts. There's a little bit of green stuff touch ups to go but I'm pretty happy with him.

That is a monster sword, I do have one small critism about it however, the join isn't level.

I'd recommend gs'ing some decoration over that as you'll never get it to look right by sanding it down (tried those before), perhaps have the blade flare out so its got some spiky bits on the sides, you should be able to blend that in well enough to cover the join.

I'm reasonably pleased with the final product. This guy does at least look like he could fell a monstrous creature or carve up whole units.

Painting isn't my strongest skill but I like the cloak in particular.

@mal I smoothed out the join with GS and I don't think it's very noticeable on the final painted model

@grail he is indeed using the wings power, as he has no jump pack
I chose to keep the hair short as I don't like the hair on the current model
