Hey, the pics are getting better!

I feel like they need some sort of hatch or armor plate on the top. They look at little too flat up there.

I am, as an Ork player, sad to see more Hydras in town.

Go with some kind of crazy radome or antenna up top.

Check this Russian AAA tank turret to get ideas. (also because it look really cool spewing out all those tracers):

Those are wicked! Traitor guard I presume?
I agree that you do need something on the top of the turrets. A simple cupola would work to break up the flat surface. Or more sensors, you can never have enough sensors. :D

Dosadi…
…who wonders if it’s possible to put more than one hunter killer missile on a Hydra? After all the Russians can do it.

No sir, no traitor guard for me. It's Praetorians all the way! I agree the top is a little barren.....maybe, I can dig up some hatches....and some pintle mounted stubbers......:D

That is exactly what I thought to do as soon as I saw the quad-autocannon turrets with the Planet Strike set.

I agree. Makes me want to do an Ad Mech/Imperial Guard. Must... focus...

And nicely done, sir!

It's an excellent job crazyred! :)

I agree a hatch on top would work nicely, maybe some extra sensors or something? I'm not sure a pintle mount would work though, it might crowd the existing sensor a bit?

After talking with a few of the guys last night I think I'm going to just add a sensor dish and I may do something to stabilize the bottom a bit.

I was definately thinking Admech! It would be a great RED to use. Great work and keep it up!

Doesnt really need something on the top of the turret (I presume the crew gets in at the back of the Chimera Hull as per normal).

No one said it was an innovation. So, go back to playing Pokemon and let the adults continue the conversation.

I was about to say that you need to lose the lasguns on the back. But I realized you probably use them as chimeras also.

Yes, that is it exactly. I wanted to try out the Hydras. I had never used one until last week. So, I am giving them a try before using a Chimera chassis on a vehicle that I will hardly ever use. So far, I have had positive results with them and I am looking forward to an actual Hydra kit.

Very nice conversions. Resourceful, and they look as good as their forgeworld counterparts.

That tank bigred linked had an incredible rate of fire. I think a dish like that on top of the turret would be really cool.

Yaayyyy! First posted reply!

Here's a conversion I did for a Hydra out of a Chimera chassis and a Gundam Serpent Custom 1/100 scale.

http://www.bigshoota.com/xtras/Hydra.jpg

I took a SM Rhino turret mount, some plasticard, and a SM radar dish (hidden in this picture).

I still need to weather it, put on decals, and finish some detail work, but the design is sound. It's even magnetized so I can swap out with a Chimera top.

Okay, okay, I can't take credit for this design though. I found a similar one online several years ago and stole the idea, so I thought I'd try it out.
