View Full Version : Do Torment Grenade Launchers Stack??

I don't recall the exact wording in the rules, but I'd like to know people's thoughts on whether or not the 6" -1 to Ld bubble from the new DE vehicle upgrade Torment Grenade Launchers stacks? If so this might make the Crucible of Malediction and Archangel of Pain much more viable to bring down those high-Ld models. What with Crucible being the lone means of psychic defense besides taking Lady Malys, I really hope this works. Granted you'd have to get multiple raiders/ravagers withing 6" of the psykers, but it would give Mephiston, Eldrad, and any number of other big nasties something to worry about.

I doubt it stacks... like the old horrorfex grenades, they only stacked from single units... overlaps didn't stack.

If it did stack then it'd be far too powerful for the points.

I don't recall the exact wording, I was just hoping for a little guidance on it. Now that I'm thinking about it, I vaguely think there was something about "suffers -1 Ld if one or more raiders is within 6in" but i'm not positive if that was it. I agree it would probably a little over the top powerful, but it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened

Yes, the Torment Grenade Launchers stack.

Just like how Trophy Racks in the current DE book stack. Trophy Racks have been stacking for 12 years, and the Torment Grenade Launchers are just the updated version of the Trophy Rack in the up and coming codex.

It is amazing how little people really knew about DE all these years.... Having 3 Trophy Racks near a Psyker, only to kill them with a Malediction was pure sex :eek:

Heh, that's just mean. Fly up close with 3-4 Raiders, and pop Malediction, no more psyker.

If they stack, then it works exactly how it used to...

Get enough raiders in range then fire off the malediction (note only the haemos can run with arcane wargear now) to kill off the psyker... or more precisely, remove the model from play.

With a 6" range and the inherent fragility of the raiders, getting more than 1 within 6" is going to be a challenge.

Still planning to use this with the archangel of pain arcane item on my haemonculus.

the raiders now have a potential maximum movement of 36"... getting a few within 6" isn't all that hard to do, just don't expect them to survive there for very long.
