So, I've recently dug out my old Tyranid army, looking it over and trying to update it a little for the new codex. Comparing it to the new book, I'm pleased to see that Gargoyles got a boost, as did Termagants with Devourers. Also, I found a old pair of dragons (one High Elf, I think? And one Reaper Minatures) who's wings I might plunder to give me a Flyrant/Parasite pair once properly converted...

However, I also noted that Lictors and Carnifexs didn't fare quite as well. However, I figure some heavy conversion work might still work.

I've got three Lictors, one of which I'm thinking of making into Deathleaper. However, that leaves me with two Lictors that I don't really want with these rules. What are models that might be the same size? I was considering making the two into Tervigons, perhaps, but looking around most Tervi's seem to be made from 'fexes.

I've also got two older model Carnifexes (I think it's the grinning, non-awesome Screamer Killer ones). I was considering somehow turning them into Tyrannofexes, as they ARE standing upright, which seems to be the biggest difference I can tell between the two 'fexes. However, there seem to be even fewer reference conversions online then the Tervigons.... And what to make a Rupture Cannon with?

Thoughts? Could I reasonably get two Tervis and two Tyrannos out of the models, or do you think I'd be better suited to just sticking to the Carnifex-> Tervigon route? If so, any ideas of what to do with the Lictors?

you could use the lictors as tervigons but try to model them as that there pheromone trails are attracting lots of gaunts instead of them being spawned by the actual tervigon. IDK on how this would actually but its an idea

Hmm... not a bad idea, actually. Convert them to have a different/ bigger shell, give them scything arms, and then fill the base with Termagants crowding their base... Could work.

I've also been considering making the Carnifex-> Tyrannofex conversion have four legs, more like the Hive Guard then actual Carnifexes. Could make them stand out a bit more...
