I'm about to start painting my Valkarie for a Tallarn army, but am a bit stumped on camo scheme. Does the Imperial Navy paint their ships to match the army or should it be Imperial Grey/Blue?

Any inspiration for aircraft in desert camo from WW2?
Thanks,
Chris

There are all sorts of cammo schemes. Imperial Armor has all sorts of examples of cool colour schemes. Valkyries and Vultures are usually more attached to regiments than Navy-- their colour schemes reflect this fact.

They paint them to match the army regiment, which in turn usually matches the theatre of war...desert, snow, urban etc

Just google desert paint schemes and you'll see a lot. Or just watch the news, and copy what our boys abroad are wearing for their scheme and on their humvees.

As for painting advice it'll be yellows, bones and some light oranges. For real detail the front edge of the wings will be scratched to buggery in a desert, from sand damage, so have it scratched with some metal shwoing through...

Check out some of the WWII Africa campaign paint jobs.

In general aircraft cammo was two to three colors on top, representing the ground, and one on the underside representing the sky. The upper surface should be a base color, generally light to mid tone, and a shadow color. The third color, if used, is just an accent color. The pattern does not have to look like the ground, it only needs to disrupt the shape of the plane.
