Parry Saves

Hey guys, here's a quick question.

Do you get a parry save if you have a spear, lance or other 1 handed weapon?

I know you get one with a hand weapon, but my friends argue that my Lothern sea guard get no parry when using their spears.

Normal hand weapon and shield only; you cannot get it with spears, etc.
You must also follow the 'special weapon rule' (ie. you have to use a spear, halberd, flail, etc. if armed with one); so Seaguard may never claim a parry.

Okay, a follow up question, can you claim a parry save from a magic weapon? Seems silly to me but I just want to be sure.

From a magic weapon, I'm pretty sure. No rule book in front of me though.

And before anyone else asks you can't with a normal hand weapon and magic shield either....

Per the rulebook, the only way to get a parry save is with a normal handweapon and normal shield. Magic either or both of the two and you lose the parry bonus.
