Wolf Guard Cyclone Missile Launcher + Assault Weapons?

The fluff for the Wolf Guard say that they are pretty much given their pick of the Wolf Lord's armory. The army list entry allows any WG model to take Terminator Armor, then swap the storm bolter for a storm shield, then swap the power weapon for a chain fist, then allows ANY Wolf Guard to take a Cyclone Missile Launcher as long as the squad numbers 5 or more models.

So, could I take a Wolf Guard model with a chainfist, storm shield, and a cyclone missile launcher? The rules allow a WG to take a CML and still use their storm bolter, so could they then swap that storm bolter for a storm shield and still use it in addition to the CML?

I realize this is probably not the most efficient set-up for a Wolf Guard model (not to mention comes in at a whopping 93 points), but I was just thinking that if I were a newly inducted member of a Wolf Lord's retinue, and that armament was available, that is what I would want to take into battle. It is just too bad *** of an image for me to resist modelling up a single one for my force. I realize vanilla and BA marines don't have that option, but neither can they take combi-bolters and shooty/assault mixed squads. Thoughts?

I would vote that you can definitely use that model legally. BA can do similar with equipping a Terminator with both CML and the asscan, but that doesn't make any sense at all so I won't do it. ;)

A storm shiedl just grants an Invulnerable Save to the model, it isn't a ranged weapon so there would be no issue of trying to use two ranged weapons at the same time (which is what the rule relates to anyway).

Thre is no issue anyway, TDA grants the relentless USR. Someone wearing TDA can shoot 10 ranged weapons and laugh all the while (ofc you can't actualy give someone wearing TDA 10 ranged weapons, but you get the idea, its also why I like my libbys in TDA).

The Relentless USR lets a model move and fire with rapid fire and heavy weapons as if they didn't move. It also lets them assault afterwards. It does not let them fire any additional weapons.


@OP I'm a little confused by your question. If you're asking if you can use the missiles with the shield and chainfist, there's no reason you couldn't. If you want to use the storm bolter you traded, the storm shield, the chain fist and the missile launcher all at the same time, no such luck. The missile launchers let the user fire a storm bolter in addition to the missiles. It does not let you keep the storm bolter if you trade it out.

Sounds like a sanguinary priest with a jump pack, power weapon, and a storm bolter---- but without the IC status!
