In the Planetstrike book, pg 27, it says
"The wall itself if made from parts of the Citadel Mighty Fortress Kit, which can be a great point for defenders who want to build their own indomitable fortress."
Has this been released yet or is it a future product?

Yup, its one of the oldest plastic kits still in production from GW. Its gotta be almost 20 years old by now.

And, I would add a beast to assemble. We just put several together for BoLScon...what a nightmare. Construction is night and day compared to the modern Bastions.

Why, just because modelers needed a hammer to get the edges to line up? That's a man's kit!

Agreed.

Kids these days with their snap-on plastic kits, 5 tvs in each house, and 3 cars in the drive way...

The Warhammer Fortress is actually the second castle kit made by GW. The Mighty Fortress was the first and that was available in the early 1990s until it was replaced with the Warhammer Fortress. It was high-density foam, unlike Warhammer Fortress which is polystyrene like the plastic miniatures. Mighty Fortress was a great kit that came with working plastic doors, siege ladders and other cool accessories and it was considerably less expensive than Warhammer Fortress, but it was also less durable.

I own a Warhammer Fortress and painted it some years ago. I sold my Mighty Fortress at a Bizarre Bazaar GW flea market a couple years ago.

Grail is correct about the age. It is easily confused with the older very similar fortress which may be seen in the 1988 version of Warhammer Siege.
